Best Buy Gamers: how the $5 reward and sweepstakes actually work

The $5 is a limited certificate, not cash at signup

Best Buy launched the Gamers beta October 20, 2026. Its promotional terms say the first 200,000 eligible My Best Buy members who sign up for a linked Gamers profile during October 20–December 31 qualify for one $5 promotional certificate. The 200,000 cap can be reached before December 31. Best Buy does not establish how many spots remain at any particular moment.

Sign in and link the right membership

You need an active My Best Buy account, to be signed into it before the qualifying signup, and to create the Gamers profile linked to that account. A valid email linked to My Best Buy is required. Best Buy's terms limit the certificate to one per member, one-time use and nontransferable. The Gamers experience itself is free, while some additional offers are reserved for paid My Best Buy Plus and Total memberships.

Certificate timing: about 15 days to delivery, then 30 days to use

Best Buy says the $5 promotional certificate appears in the linked My Best Buy account approximately 15 days after qualification and expires 30 days from issuance. That timeline is not an instant checkout deduction, an unconditional $5 gift card or an automatic gaming console markdown. A separate sweepstakes runs through November 30

Best Buy also announced a daily-entry sweepstakes with no purchase required, ending November 30, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time. Best Buy limits eligibility to listed U.S. jurisdictions and adults 18 or older, with complete entry/prize rules on its site. Sweepstakes participation does not establish a product price or a guaranteed prize. Do not count it as a discount in budget tools.

What Switch 2 and PS5 Pro buyers should actually monitor

The new Best Buy Gamers destination may surface news, offers or member-only opportunities for gaming technology. As of this October 20 announcement there is no confirmed Nintendo Switch 2 or PS5 Pro Cyber Monday price from it. Compare console-only versus bundles, included games, disk-drive needs, condition, membership conditions, live stock, delivered total and return policy. Treat any certificate separately from a potential price change.
