Is the bundle actually a better buy?

Make a contents list

Write each included item, quantity and specification. For hair tools, match the device and every attachment. For beauty sets, record the size of each product. A travel size and a full size are not equivalent because their packaging looks similar.

Value what you would use

Compare the bundle with buying only the pieces you intended to buy. If an accessory would otherwise stay in a drawer, assigning its full advertised value to the bundle exaggerates its usefulness to you.

Try a simple example

Hypothetical example: a tool costs $180 on its own. A $220 bundle adds an attachment you wanted that costs $25 separately and a pouch you do not need. Buying the tool and attachment costs $205 before other charges. The bundle costs $15 more for your intended use. These figures illustrate the method; they are not current offers.

Include the practical conditions

Check whether a promotional voucher has restrictions, whether all components must be returned together and whether the same warranty applies. Shipping and tax can change the final comparison.

Choose the outcome, not the piece count

October 2026 example: Costco's appliance threshold

Costco's October 5–11, 2026 online-only appliance promotion advertised $100 off at $999, $200 at $1,499, $300 at $1,999 and $500 at $2,499 of qualifying appliance purchases.
