How to shop Cyber Monday online with friends

Meet on a call, share product links, compare the real totals and help each other decide—without sharing passwords, carts or payment details.

Start with a call and a short list

Choose the video or chat service your group already uses. Each person should arrive with a spending limit and a short list of people, needs or exact products. The point is to make decisions together, not to create a new reason to browse everything on sale.

Share product links, not private screens

Drop public retailer product links into the group chat. Avoid screen sharing checkout pages, saved addresses, account details, payment information or password managers. If a listing requires a login to view a personalized price, describe the offer without exposing the account.

Use Buy, Wait or Skip for unplanned finds

When someone finds something that was not on the list, pause for sixty seconds. Ask whether they would want it tomorrow without the sale badge, whether it fits the budget, and whether the exact model and return terms have been checked. Buy, wait and skip are all successful outcomes.

Compare the exact offer together

One person can read the model and bundle details while another checks the full delivered cost. Use the comparison calculator for confusing offers. Unknown tax or shipping stays unknown until checkout; do not fill missing numbers with guesses.

Take breaks on purpose

Cyber Monday can turn into hours of tabs and urgency. Schedule a ten-minute screen break every hour, refill drinks, eat something and come back to the original list. A break can make an artificial countdown feel much less persuasive.

End with a victory lap

Before leaving the call, share the best find, the smartest skip, one unresolved item and the amount each person has actually committed. Save any remaining research for later instead of forcing a decision because the group is still online.
