Best Buy's published 2026–2027 return dates

Best Buy says MOST qualifying purchases made between October 30 and December 31, 2026 are eligible for return through January 15, 2027; My Best Buy Plus/Total members generally qualify through January 31, 2027. Exceptions and special return categories apply; Best Buy points to BestBuy.com/Returns for the full policy. Record the return-by date from your actual item and receipt rather than assuming those deadlines cover any marketplace or activated device.

LG price-protection refund is distinct from returning an order

LG's price guarantee for selected direct LG.com models purchased by November 1 compares identical LG.com pretax prices through November 30. LG describes eligible refunds as automatic, normally two to three weeks after the later of delivery or the promotion end. This is not an extended return window. Costco's upcoming Nov 27–30 TV/PC preview also does not create a universal Christmas arrival cutoff.

October 26: announced sale dates do not establish gift shipping deadlines

Walmart, Costco and Ulta have now published holiday event dates. Costco specifically warns that shipping and handling may apply to online-only November 30 products, with additional costs for Alaska and Hawaii orders, while supplies last. None of the event announcements cited in this update provides a universal order-by date for Christmas or a universal returns extension across these merchants. Record each specific order's current ETA, seller and return-by date from the retailer receipt and product page.

Kohl's 2026 holiday return policy: Sephora has its own start date

Kohl's official return policy says eligible ordinary Kohl's merchandise purchased October 4–December 30, 2026 may be returned through January 31, 2027, including qualifying electronics, jewelry, watches and mattresses. Sephora at Kohl's has a DIFFERENT holiday qualifying start: October 30–December 30, with the same January 31, 2027 end. Purchases outside either window follow ordinary return terms; exclusions and original-condition/receipt requirements apply. It also reports most Buy Online Pickup In Store orders ready in about two hours, with this service through Christmas Eve. Create one record for each order

Use a notebook or a private document you already maintain. Record the retailer, actual seller, item and version, order date and order number. Add the amount paid and the expected arrival shown when you ordered. Keep the confirmation rather than relying on a shopping bag screenshot. For shared family planning, use recipient nicknames and keep full addresses, payment information and account access out of group chats.

Separate arrival from the day you need the gift

A gift needed for a school exchange has a different deadline from one going under the tree. Record both the retailer’s stated arrival estimate and your own need-by date. Include time to inspect the package and resolve a problem. Do not invent a shipping cutoff for a retailer or assume last year’s schedule still applies. Check the current listing and delivery information for your destination before purchasing.

Save the conditions that apply to this purchase

Keep the return policy or relevant confirmation with the order. Write down the deadline and whether it is based on purchase, shipment, delivery or a special holiday period. Note any exclusions, return-shipping charge or condition requirements that apply. The useful question is “What applies to this exact purchase?” A general promise on a retailer’s home page may not answer that question for a marketplace seller or a final-sale item.

Inspect promptly without spoiling the surprise

When a parcel arrives, compare the label and contents with the order while following any return conditions. Check the version, visible damage and missing parts before wrapping. Keep packaging and instructions where appropriate. If something is wrong, contact the seller through its official channel and retain the conversation. A cheerful gift label can wait until you know the correct item arrived.

Share gift information without sharing account access

If a gift receipt is available, include it in a way that respects the recipient’s privacy and the retailer’s process. Tell the recipient when a short exchange window matters, without making the gift feel like a deadline. If you are coordinating with other adults, share the item’s status and any needed action rather than forwarding a whole email thread full of personal information. Keep surprises out of a list the recipient can see.

Free or next-day shipping is not the same as a holiday deadline

Amazon mentions fast free delivery for Prime members during the October 19–November 1 beauty event; Samsung Week mentions free next-day delivery for eligible products with sign-in. These are general conditional benefits, not published universal Christmas cutoff dates. Before buying, record your own shipping ZIP, seller, stock, checkout delivery estimate, shipment versus pickup choice, and return windows on the exact order. Choose a few minutes to mark orders as awaiting shipment, arrived, issue raised or finished. Move only confirmed arrivals into the ready-to-wrap pile. Track unresolved questions and set your own calendar reminders for any action deadlines.
